Inception follows Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), an &#8220;extractor&#8221; whose form of corporate espionage is to invade the dreams of the rich and powerful and pluck their most tightly guarded secrets from the depths of their subconscious.</p>

<p>The dictionary cites &#8220;Inception&#8221; as &#8220;a beginning of something&#8221; and Dicaprio&#8217;s character &#8220;Cobb&#8221; says at one point <strong>&#8220;A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules&#8221;</strong>. An interesting observation or &#8220;truism&#8221; that many of us are unable to grasp easily&#8230;</p>
<p>But why is that? We have all read the history books, read the newspapers, and watch TV, and have seen that &#8220;ordinary&#8221; people break records and make headlines every day&#8230; So <strong>why not you</strong> (or me)?</p>
<p>Aside from it&#8217;s entertainment value, many people <a title="Ideas and inspiration..." href="http://www.needtofind.org/" target="_blank"><strong>gain inspiration</strong></a> from books and movies, whether it be just the story line, how a particular character is portrayed, the soundtrack, or even a spectacular scene. There is also the &#8220;concept&#8221; or base idea of a book or movie that may inspire you&#8230; In this case recognition of the power of the brain&#8217;s subconscious abilities.</p>

<p>For a start, you have to be honest with yourself, and realize what sort of person you are. That is, are you someone who thrives and performs better with big challenges and who puts their heart and soul into a certain project&#8230; Or, like most, less confident and prefer to tackle projects one step at a time?</p>
<p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-600" title="achievegoals" src="http://www.needtofind.org/better-life-blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/achievegoals-300x194.jpg" alt="Achieve Goals" width="300" height="194" />Either way, the point is that before you start any new endeavor, you need to know what motivates YOU!</p>
<p>People set their goals differently, depending on their current situation, resources available, physical ability and other factors. You can, however, follow some guidelines to make sure that your goals are credible and possible. Too many individuals set their goals too high unknowingly, only to lose interest and get disappointed for life. So here are some tips on how to set goals and actually ACHIEVE them!</p>
<p><strong>You Must Be Specific!</strong></p>
<p>Goals need to be specific, so that you know which part of the process you&#8217;re currently in and the particular ways on how you will achieve them. Most people have goals to get promoted, get rich, improve relationships and the like, but these are very vague and your mind can become confused about what you truly mean. General descriptions usually do not have boundaries, so you always leave room for mistakes and compromise. If you want results that you can be proud of, be specific.</p>
<p>To be specific, you need to include the full details. Write down something like, &#8220;I want to get $10,000 by November of this year,&#8221; or &#8220;I need to become Team Leader of the sales department by next June,&#8221; or &#8220;I want my kids, Karen and Steve, to go on the school Ski trip this year.&#8221; Include the names, the position, the amount, the date and everything else needed to <a title="Learn To Achieve..." href="http://www.needtofind.org/achieve-your-dreams/" target="_blank"><strong>train your mind</strong></a> to start working towards that goal.</p>
<p><strong>Your Goals Must Be Measurable!</strong></p>
<p>Goals need to be measurable so that you can gauge how well you have done lately. To help measure your progress, you should include measurable details. For your job, you can include details such as the number of hours you&#8217;re working, the amount you&#8217;re earning, the staff you&#8217;re handling, etc. For the goal of money, you can include details such as the amount you want to have as a whole, the number of companies or businesses you own, your contact persons, etc. For losing weight, how many lbs lost per week etc. Always have things and items to be measured so you can understand how close you are to getting your goals. If your goal is to earn $10,000 a month, then you know you&#8217;re halfway there if you&#8217;re already earning $5,000 a month.</p>
<p><strong>Your Goals Must Be </strong><strong>Realistic</strong><strong> and </strong><strong>Attainable!</strong></p>
<p>Only set goals that can possibly be accomplished (by YOU). Some people set goals that are too high to reach, so that they are almost setting up things that are impossible. Make sure you only set objectives that you can reach within a given amount of time, provided the current resources and capabilities you have. Some examples of impossible goals are doubling your salary overnight, getting a promotion higher than your boss&#8217;s position, etc. Some goals can be achieved faster compared to others if you have some strengths and strategies to back these up. Always include a strategic plan for big objectives.</p>
<p><strong>Set A Time-Scale!</strong></p>
<p>Set deadlines to <a title="Learn To Achieve..." href="http://www.needtofind.org/achieve-your-dreams/" target="_blank"><strong>achieve your goals</strong></a>, or else you&#8217;re never going to finish anything. Stay specific when setting time-lines and schedules. For example, indicate things like &#8220;To spend an hour with my wife every day starting tomorrow (indicate exact date and year)&#8221;. Setting the exact time and date will spur you to start working on your goals (and sticking to it), instead of putting it off for another available time. Some bigger goals can take years to accomplish, so it is wiser to break these down into smaller objectives, still complete with deadlines. You can then finish everything in a planned sequence to finally reach your biggest original goal.</p>

The song has a very catchy way of conveying its message of being happy to everyone. Bobby Mcferrin&#8217;s simple message surely made a lot of people happy by telling them not to worry.</p>
<p>Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful, and is also good for your health. Being happy actually protects you from the stresses of life.</p>
<p>Stress is linked to top causes of death such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.</p>
<p>One of the better things ever said is &#8211; &#8220;The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change&#8221;, and in our life we have the power to make the necessary changes if we want to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation we can always find solace in the knowledge that it too would change.</p>
<p>Social networks or relationships are essential to happiness. People are different, accept people for who or what they are, avoid clashes, constant arguments, and let go of all kinds of resentments. If arguments seem unavoidable still try and make an effort to understand the situation and you might just get along with well with anyone.</p>
<p>Happiness is actually found in everyone, increasing it is a way to make a life more wonderful and also more healthy.<br />
To be happy is relatively easy, just decide to be a happy person. Abraham Lincoln observed that most people for most of the time can choose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull their outlook  to be. The choice is simple really, choose to be happy.</p>
<p>There are several ways by which you can do this&#8230; Being grateful is a great attitude.  We have so much to be thankful for.</p>
<p>Thank the taxi driver for bringing you home safely, thank the cook for a wonderful dinner and thank the guy who cleans your windows. Also thank the mailman for bringing you your mail, thank the policeman for making your place safe and thank God for being alive.</p>
<p>News is stressful. So get less of it. Some people just can&#8217;t start their day without their daily dose of news. Try and think about it, 99% of the news we hear or read is bad news. Starting the day with bad news does not seem to be a sensible thing to do.</p>
<p>A religious connection may also be beneficial. Being part of a religious group with its singing, sacraments, chanting, prayers and meditations foster inner peace.</p>
<p>Manage your time. Time is invaluable and too important to waste. Time management can be viewed  as a list of rules that involves scheduling, setting goals, planning, creating lists of things to do and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill. These basic skills can be fine tuned further to include the finer points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to make the results you desire.</p>
<p>Laugh, and laugh heartily everyday.  Heard a good joke? Tell your friends or family about it. As they also say &#8211; &#8220;Laughter is the best medicine&#8221;.</p>
<p>Express your feelings, affections, friendship and passion to people around you. They will most likely reciprocate your actions. Try not to keep pent up anger of frustrations, this is bad for your health. Instead find ways of expressing them in a way that will not cause more injury or hurt to anyone.</p>
<p>Working hard brings tremendous personal satisfaction. It gives a feeling of being competent in finishing our tasks. Accomplishments are necessary for all of us, they give us a sense of value. Work on things that you feel worthy of your time.</p>
<p>Learning is a joyful exercise. Try and learn something new everyday.</p>
<p>Learning also makes us expand and broaden our horizons. And could also give us more opportunities in the future.</p>
<p>Run, jog, walk and do other things that your body was made for. Feel alive.</p>
<p>Avoid exposure to negative elements like loud noises, toxins and hazardous places.</p>
<p>These are the few simple things you can do everyday to be happy.</p>
<p>And always remember the quote from Abraham Lincoln, he says that &#8220;Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be&#8221;.</p>

<p>1. <strong>Try to stop thinking negative thoughts about yourself.</strong> If you&#8217;re used to focusing on your shortcomings, start thinking about positive aspects of yourself that outweigh them. When you catch yourself being too critical, counter it by saying something positive about yourself. Each day, write down three things about yourself that make you happy.</p>
<p>2. <strong>Aim for accomplishments rather than perfection.</strong> Some people become paralyzed by perfection. Instead of holding yourself back with thoughts like, &#8220;I won&#8217;t audition for the play until I lose 10 pounds,&#8221; think about what you&#8217;re good at and what you enjoy, and go for it.</p>
<p>3. <strong>View mistakes as learning opportunities.</strong> Accept that you will make mistakes because everyone does. Mistakes are part of learning. Remind yourself that a person&#8217;s talents are constantly developing, and everyone excels at different things — it&#8217;s what makes people interesting.</p>
<p>4.<strong> Try new things.</strong> Try experimenting with different activities that will help you get in touch with your talents. Then take pride in new skills you develop.</p>

<p>7. <strong>Exercise! </strong>You&#8217;ll relieve stress, and be healthier and happier.</p>
<p>8. <strong>Have fun.</strong> Ever found yourself thinking stuff like &#8220;I&#8217;d have more friends if I were thinner&#8221;? Enjoy spending time with the people you care about and doing the things you love. Relax and have a good time — and avoid putting your life on hold.</p>
<p>9. <strong>Use the 10 minute technique.</strong> People with poor self esteem often fail to give themselves enough time and space. So find 10 minutes every day to be alone and to just sit and do nothing. Some people find it helpful to close their eyes and imagine a country scene or the sight and sound of waves gently lapping against the seashore. During these 10 minutes, allow yourself to feel peaceful and happy. Enjoy this time. It is yours &#8211; and yours alone. And you deserve it. But, it would seem that all the informational overload, whirring computers and media blitz has given us is more time for work. It is not unusual for men and women to work sixty or seventy hours per week on average. Some of us work eighty or ninety hours without batting an eyelash. And, we fool ourselves into thinking we have a life!</p>
<p>If you are one of the enlightened few, you have already come to the conclusion that giving up a social and family life is too great a price to pay for career success.</p>
<p>You may hate what has happened to your life. But, you probably don’t know how to change the landscape. You will be happy to know that <strong>you CAN change your life.</strong></p>
<p>Whether you make this decision for health reasons, relationship reasons or simply out of the need to get control over your own life, you have more than enough justification and motivation to make the move. However, you need to make a firm commitment to this change. Be realistic about how fast and how far you can go with this plan.</p>
<p>But, let’s be clear about something! What we are talking about here is not quitting your job and hoping that someone will donate money to the cause. There is a real difference between achieving balance in your work and family life and the idea that you don’t have to work at all.</p>
<p>Work is part of life, and it is healthy and constructive. It pays the bills; it gives us the reward of real accomplishment and feeling of useful participation in the community and in society. What we are talking about here is the rational balance of your work and social life – a balance that is all too rare in today’s society, and one whose absence has caused sky-high health-care costs and a dramatic increase in stress, psychological and relationship problems.</p>
<p><strong>Now that we are clear on the goals and reasons for work/life balance, let’s continue!</strong></p>
<p>If you’ve decided to jump off the merry-go-round and seek some occasional solace with your family and friends, you must have a plan for your escape.</p>
<p>First, and foremost, you must set goals! Involve your boss, co-workers, friends and family in the process and keep the lines of communication open, and you’ll end up where you want to be. Sounds easy, doesn’t it?</p>

We have grown so accustomed to information at the speed of light that the prospect of not having immediate access to countless numbers of facts and figures with the mere click of a few buttons for many of us is simply disconcerting. For this reason, it only makes sense that there are many people across the nation and around the world that are embracing the idea of online learning and educational opportunities with every ounce of enthusiasm they can muster.</p>
<p>At the same time there are equal numbers of people around the world who are trying desperately to hold on to traditional methods of dealing with certain things. In fact, some people actually still play solitaire with a deck of<br />
playing cards. For people who feel that the information age has left them behind to some degree the chances are quite good that online learning may not be the best available option for you.</p>
<p>Below you will find a few questions that can help you narrow down whether or not you would truly benefit by taking some of the many online courses that are being offered in today&#8217;s information age of learning.</p>
<p>1) <em><strong>Are you disciplined?</strong></em> This may seem like such an innocuous question because we would all like to think that we are disciplined to some degree. The problem is that when you are in the driver&#8217;s seat for your own education you need to have a little more than some small degree of discipline. You need to be able to meet deadlines, take the tests, and hold yourself responsible for actually learning the information that you need to learn in order to pass the course. There is no one to blame but yourself if you do not manage to do well in your online classes and some people simply do not like being in the drivers seat when it comes to motivating and pacing themselves and their learning practices.</p>
<p>2) <em><strong>How do you learn best?</strong></em> We all have different methods of learning for which we retain information better than others. Online courses are reading intensive. If you have difficulties retaining the information you read you may need to find an alternate learning method or seek solutions with the assistance of the course instructor before moving forward in an online learning environment.</p>
<p>3) <em><strong>Do you have a true desire to succeed?</strong></em> The answer to this question is quite important in determining whether or not online learning is in your best interest. There are many paths you can take in order to achieve the education and degree you desire. This is not the path of the masses, at least not yet. This type of learning, more than any other is easy to give up on through apathy. If you aren&#8217;t determined to do the assignments, to study the notes, and to really learn the material that is presented to you then you really do not need to waste your time or the instructor&#8217;s time by continually making up excuses. Online courses are largely self-paced but you do have a limited amount of time in which to learn the material before you need to move on. The teacher is responsible for providing you the information and material but you are responsible for everything that happens from that moment on. Are you ready for that responsibility?</p>
<p>Whether you are a first time college student or a professional that is returning to school after a long absence online learning can open new doors of opportunity for your learning pleasure. You must be willing to walk through those doors and take the information that is presented to you however in order to be successful. My sincere hope is that everyone reading this will carefully consider whether or not the lack of structure that many online courses provides is going to be conducive to your specific learning and educational needs before taking the plunge.<!-- pingbacker_start --><br />

<li><strong><em>Follow through in everything you do.</em></strong> As challenging as it may be, you need to be disciplined enough to be where you need to be, when you need to be there, whether you want to or not. By being strong in your resolve and resisting temptation to give up, you are setting an example for others to live up to.</li>

<p>Regardless of where your leadership role takes you, believe that <strong><em>you can be a strong leader.</em></strong> Remember that in order to lead others, you must be disciplined yourself. After all, your actions will speak louder than anything you can say.</p>

You might answer “around 10 to 35%” and that is all. True, most kids today are not thrilled to solve Mathematical equations, not because they do not know the processes involved, but because of the lack of interest in it.</p>
<p>In a similar way, our daily activities do not mean 100%  joy and 0% problems. At times, we have more problems than joy. Fortunately, some individuals are skilled in handling problems right. Want to know their secrets?</p>
<p>Well, carefree people, as some might call them, have one thing in common: optimism. This does not mean they&#8217;ve never had problems before. Try thinking of a colleague, a relative, a friend, or someone from your community who has the brightest smile at the start until the end of the day. How many times do you see that person frown? Carefree people are fun to be with because their attitude is contagious. Have you tried asking them how they carry their problems lightly? Below are their secrets:</p>
<p>1.      Learn to control your feelings by separating negative feelings from positive thoughts. This is the first step in solving problems. Only after you have cleared your mind of unnecessary thoughts can you start solving your problems effectively.</p>
<p>2.      Treat each problem as a challenge and an opportunity for self-improvement.</p>
<p>3.      Forget that scapegoat attitude. Are you pointing your finger or blaming others for mishaps? Take responsibility for your mistakes. No one is perfect, so never put the blame on others.</p>
<p>4.      Use a pen and paper, and rate the depth of the problem and possible answers to your problem. The &#8220;laws of probability&#8221; will enable you to evaluate the likelihood of resolving your problems.</p>
<p>5.      Keep a journal and treat it as a “secret friend” who is always willing to listen to your grievances. Write your feelings freely .</p>
<p>6.      Develop an interest or  hobby, as this will help you lessen or minimize stress in your life.</p>
<p>7.      Take time out and create variations of your daily schedule. Relax and check out the best movies in town. Travel and meet new people. You will find these activities worthwhile in the long run.</p>
<p>The above tips will help you optimize those positive feelings of yours. Say you are already consumed by some problems. Here are the 1-2-3 steps in achieving your problem solving:</p>
<p>1.      Determine the root cause of the problem. If you think it is difficult, ask hundreds of why’s and what’s and you will soon find the cause.</p>
<p>2.      Develop a strong desire to solve the problem. .</p>
<p>3.      Think, work out your best strategy, and act for resolution</p>
<p>4.      Review the original situation and avoid repeating the same mistakes committed beforehand.</p>
<p>Consider that everybody experiences lowness sometimes, but problems are only hurdles that you can usually overcome, . Problem solving is just a 1-2-3 process,  and a life-sharpening experience. Hence, never ignore the situation or lock yourself in your room when a problem arises. You can learn to solve problems effectively, and quite easily with practice.</p>

That is their job&#8230; Be sure to realize that.</p>
<p><strong>Bullying at work</strong> has been a major topic in the UK news recently, with even the Prime Minister accused of bullying staff members&#8230; But was it their own fault?</p>
<p>If the reason you are working really long hours, under tremendous stress is that your boss is a lunatic, then you need to change jobs. Before you do that, you have to be honest with yourself.</p>
<p>Be sure that you aren’t contributing to the problem and that you have honestly tried to improve your relationship. Be sure that you don’t make things worse by offering to work longer hours or take someone else’s shift because you feel guilty.</p>
<p>If your attitude and feelings of obligation about work are contributing to your long hours and burying you work you can never finish, you have to make some changes in your work habits. This may sound easy, but it isn’t necessarily so.</p>
<p><strong>Many people function from guilt</strong> and take on more than they should because they want their bosses and co-workers to like them or they think they will get a promotion or raise, when they actually aren’t required to do more than perform well in order to be recognized. If you have emotional issues about what is enough, or how to be well liked on the job, you have to address those.</p>
<p>Some companies offer job coaches, or life coaches to help you through these obstacles. If not, consider getting a life coach on your own time or go to a counselor and work through your issues.</p>
<p><strong>Remember, it is important to do a good job</strong> and even, many times, to go the extra mile, but you should never put yourself in a position where you do all the work while other people get paid the same amount or more and get promotions or time off when you do not.</p>

<p>Hard work always pays off. There is no single famous individual person in history who achieved several goals in life without working it off. You have to understand the importance of delayed gratification as you work towards your ultimate goal. To begin hard work, you can begin by fixing your schedule, writing down tasks and functions of the day and finding the right people and resources that can assist you. You can break it down into smaller tasks that are much easier to do within the given time frame that you have.</p>
