Millions of people feel they are being pressured (or bullied) into working longer hours, taking on more responsibilities, and generally doing much more work for little or no apparent reward… And with the current employment situation, that is understandable, as business owners and managers obviously want to cut costs whilst increasing productivity. That is their job… Be sure to realize that.
Bullying at work has been a major topic in the UK news recently, with even the Prime Minister accused of bullying staff members… But was it their own fault?
If the reason you are working really long hours, under tremendous stress is that your boss is a lunatic, then you need to change jobs. Before you do that, you have to be honest with yourself.
Be sure that you aren’t contributing to the problem and that you have honestly tried to improve your relationship. Be sure that you don’t make things worse by offering to work longer hours or take someone else’s shift because you feel guilty.
If your attitude and feelings of obligation about work are contributing to your long hours and burying you work you can never finish, you have to make some changes in your work habits. This may sound easy, but it isn’t necessarily so.
Many people function from guilt and take on more than they should because they want their bosses and co-workers to like them or they think they will get a promotion or raise, when they actually aren’t required to do more than perform well in order to be recognized. If you have emotional issues about what is enough, or how to be well liked on the job, you have to address those.
Some companies offer job coaches, or life coaches to help you through these obstacles. If not, consider getting a life coach on your own time or go to a counselor and work through your issues.
Remember, it is important to do a good job and even, many times, to go the extra mile, but you should never put yourself in a position where you do all the work while other people get paid the same amount or more and get promotions or time off when you do not.
If you get to this point in your reading and you have become convinced that you would have to change companies and jobs in order to achieve the balance you desire, don’t be discouraged.
You don’t have to put up with being bullied into doing too much, and because this is such a common problem these days, we have compiled a “Self-Help” book package dealing with how you can change your life to achieve what you want.
I’m not pressuring you, but… Click the link to check it out now!
If you want to be truly successful in how you achieve your goals, then you need to adopt the right habits and attitudes that will keep you on track. There are a number of good traits you have to keep for life to discover that more opportunities and good things are bound to happen, if only you allow these. Here are some of the features that great people have.
Being Industrious
Hard work always pays off. There is no single famous individual person in history who achieved several goals in life without working it off. Being industrious means working harder than anyone else, studying more than anyone else and even suffering more than anyone else. You have to understand the importance of delayed gratification as you work towards your ultimate goal. To begin hard work, you can begin by fixing your schedule, writing down tasks and functions of the day and finding the right people and resources that can assist you. Keep in mind that you have to be as independent as possible to finish more in the long term.
Discipline and Consistency
Discipline is what separates the leaders from the followers. If you truly want to make changes in your life, you have to understand doing things even if you do not want to at times, and maintaining excellent quality and optimum performance each time. Being consistent is intertwined with patience, wherein you continue performing well, regardless of the situations and hindrances, to render the results you want in the end.
Discipline and consistency are also interrelated, in the sense that discipline breeds consistency. If you continue practicing good habits and sticking to the functions that lead to your main goal, you will find it easier to do over time. You will change as an entire person and experience the opportunities that come with being dedicated.
Resilience
Problems are a part of everyone’s life, but it is the resilient person who always prevails and achieves their goals. You need to learn from your past mistakes and convert these into more productive actions the next time. Learn to pick yourself up after each fall and put in double effort to become better. Some of the most successful people, as well as those who truly left a mark in history are known to have faced big difficulties and resentment before they let others understand their own way of doing things.
Optimism
You need to stay positive about your situation, regardless of the problems that you face. It is vital that you stay optimistic and always believe that you will get to your goal, no matter what. If you tell yourself that you will reach it sooner, chances are you will. It might help to believe in the powers of the Universal Law of Attraction which draws opportunities toward you just the way you intend to, and in the right intensity as you desired.
Patience
Some goals are very big and will take time to accomplish. Do not allow yourself to think that some goals are just too huge to be possible. Be specific and set goals that are attainable to your current situation and start working to achieve these. You can break it down into smaller tasks that are much easier to do within the given time frame that you have.

You may be thinking that the title of this article is too dramatic… But in actual fact it’s extremely accurate!
Any Doctor will tell you that chronic stress conditions lead to thousands of serious illnesses and deaths every single year. A situation that appears to worsen as the pressures of modern life increase on a daily basis. Not only do you run the risk of mental disorders, but there are heart attacks, strokes, tobacco and alcohol addiction amongst many others that are more often than not attributed to being stress- related.
As you know, many people have Therapists to ease their worries and help them overcome stress… Which is fine and dandy… If you can afford it! However, for the rest of us mere mortals, if we had the money for Therapists, we may not be quite as stressed as we now! Obviously, lack of money is not the only cause of extreme stress, but it is one heck of a “biggie” these days (thank you Mr Banker!).
So, what do the “rest of us” do?
Don’t worry, you can learn to overcome stress , if your willing to put in the time and effort to help yourself, and it’s actually easier than you may think, once you know how…
There are various methods, and obviously I can’t cover all of them here (you would need several books!) and some will suit one person better than others, nonetheless here are a few tips to get you started…
First of all, you need to understand the root cause of your stress, or at least the most important one. So spend a little time analyzing your feelings and identify your main problem.
If possible, talk to someone close to you about it… sharing the problem will relieve some if the stress you are feeling, and in some cases, they may be able to help you with it. You may find that just “getting it off your chest” will make you feel a whole lot better, and two heads can often be better than one.
Go for a brisk walk… The exercise itself will stimulate you and help you think more clearly. It will also lift your spirits as the adrenalin starts to pump through your body, and you may come up with ideas that hadn’t previously occurred to you.
Try to view your situation with “your glass half-full”… That is, be aware that you can actually subconsciously talk yourself into stress or depression by thinking the worst of any situation. So, look for the positives, and try to build on them.
Don’t be afraid of helping others… Quite often assisting others in times of stress can improve your personal outlook on life, even if it’s only because somebody else might be worse off than you. Aside from that, by helping others your are less likely to be solely focused on your own problems.
Do something different… If time and means permit, go and do something that you normally wouldn’t… Even if it’s just a day out somewhere, a game of golf perhaps, or anything that you fancy doing, but never seem to get around to, take some time to enjoy yourself.
Ok, these tips on their own won’t magically eliminate your stress completely and solve all your problems… But they will put you on the road to dealing with stress more effectively and reduce the risk of serious illness. Don’t ignore stress and find out the hard way!

Sometimes life just doesn’t seem “fun” anymore… You don’t want to get out of bed, let alone go and do a days work! We all know the pattern: Get up, go to work, come home, watch TV, go to bed… every single day!
Are you fed up with doing the same thing every day, feeling depressed, stressed, lethargic, usually miserable, knowing you will be doing the same thing, and feeling just as depressed tomorrow? Do you need to find ways of improving your life?
If you are seemingly “stuck in a rut” and obviously not enjoying your life anymore, surely it’s time to do something about it… You may not even have noticed the gradual decline of your life’s “quality”, just sort of drifted into a daily routine where most of your actions are performed on “autopilot” and almost part of your subconsciousness.
I know, it may not seem easy at times, maybe you’re working 9 or 10 (or more!) hours a day, you’ve got the kids to look after, shopping to do, etc etc… But, remember your life won’t get any better until you can make some time to improve it. Also, your misery will affect your relationships with your partner, your family, and even your work.
If you feel you are in, or approaching, this situation (and millions of people are), NOW is the time to start improving your life!
So how do you do it?
Here are some tips that will gradually help you regain your interest and improve your life…
First of all, think about your daily routine and identify at least one thing you could do differently. It can be something as trivial as taking the stairs at work instead of the lift (the exercise will make you feel good anyway), driving a different route, or shopping at a different store. It doesn’t matter what it is, the idea is just to do something different, notice different things, or experience different feelings.
Secondly, consider taking up a new hobby or sport… Find something you might be interested in, or that you used to do, but never seem to get around to anymore. It must be something interesting to you. If you work long hours because you need the money, try and find something interesting that you can earn some extra cash from (you can always learn, try the Internet). If you choose a sport, the competition and the exercise will make you feel better.
Also, why not change your diet? I don’t mean anything radical, but if you’re one of those that has similar meals on certain days of the week… Change it around, instead of you’re usual pizza on a Friday, try Chinese, or whatever… Perhaps you eat regularly at certain times of day, change it! It doesn’t sound a lot, but it’s different to your normal routine… Instead of grabbing your lunch at diner or cafe, why not grab a sandwich and take a walk in the park?
Treat yourself once in a while… Go for a night out with friends, or go and see a movie, even go shopping for that special “something” that will make your life seem better… It will be worth it!
Bear in mind that these tips only represent “a start” to improving your life. As you change things little by little, your life will become more and more interesting, and you will begin to feel less stressed and look forward to the next day, and doing new things. Those around you will also regard you differently, and want to be around you more, and trust me, you will be happier with your new, improved life.

You would be amazed at how many of us lack self confidence and actually have quite a low opinion of ourselves, believing that we are incapable of achieving any success, and so willingly bend to other peoples’ will to keep them happy, rather than ourselves.
There is usually no valid reason for this other than it’s something we’ve grown up with and got used to from an early age. There are various reasons for this, possibly ranging from being bullied as a child, to just “going with the flow” for a supposedly easier life. Meaning there’s no “physical” reason, just our acquired “mental attitude” to life.
What we want to do is help you raise your self-esteem to levels that will enhance your life and the way you view life. Improving your self confidence can make a tremendous difference in your quality of life. Learning techniques to improve self-esteem can be taught and put into practice in just a few days. However, it will take practice to keep your sense of self-worth at the optimum.
Many people don’t even recognize the problem, but, as you are reading this, you obviously aren’t one of them! So… How do you improve your self esteem and confidence?
First of all, you must realize that it won’t happen overnight, but gradually, by learning to adjust your way of thinking, it will soon become second nature to you, and “doors” previously firmly closed to you will burst wide open!
Now, let’s get started…
1: Try to think more positively about yourself… for example, if you don’t think you’re particularly “pretty” or “handsome”, you may be friendly, generous, clever, etc. Try not to focus on any perceived “negative” aspect of yourself, and always counter with a “positive”. Also don’t forget that a “negative” may be something you can improve…
2: Don’t expect to be perfect all the time… If you can do something reasonably well, realize that you might do it better next time, or with more practice. Setting yourself overly high standards is a common reason for low self esteem.
3: Don’t be frightened of making mistakes… It’s what makes you human. In fact, you will find that the few people that appear to be “perfect” and “error free” are often viewed with suspicion and even resentment by their peers.
4: Experiment, try new things… The reason you may feel “no good” at anything might be because you haven’t tried anything yet… Or at least, something you could be “good at”. Again, “fear of making mistakes” often prevents us from achieving anything.
5: Don’t worry about things you can’t change… If you’re only 4feet 10ins tall, or only have one leg… don’t fret about it, you can’t change it, so focus on your superior limbo dancing skills, or wonderful hopping ability! I’m joking, but you get the idea… Learn to turn a disadvantage into your advantage.
6: Lighten up! Remember your sense of humor… enjoy yourself. You don’t have to be the “office clown”, but if you make a fool of yourself once in a while… So what? Not many would hold it against you.
7: Get out and do some exercise… Great for your health and general feeling of “wellbeing”. You don’t have to run a marathon, but go for walks or take up a sport… You never know, you might be good at it, just think how that will improve your self esteem and confidence!
Obviously, there is a lot more to improving your self esteem than I can cover here, as I said before, it’s not an “overnight” process and will be harder for some than others… Everyone is different, and so require different levels of help, but remember that confidence is achievable by everyone.
Hopefully these few tips will help you start building your confidence and self esteem, and you will want to take it further and continue your journey to self improvement… You won’t regret it!

Stress has always been a part of our daily lives. We often find ways to deal it with but can become unbearable when you’re tightly under its grip. The important part here is to take control of stress before it ends up controlling you — which is to say that you will be making a lot of mistakes that will take quite a lot of time and effort to fix. This is where stress management comes in.
Why Get Rid Of Stress?
We can never deny the fact that stress can be a big hindrance in everything you plan to do with your life. It can get in the way of business, career, or even with your family and friends. If you give in to the irritation and anger that is often the result of stress, you are bound to make wrong decisions and plenty of mistakes that will bring you down.
You can lose your job, do badly in a business deal, or even make enemies left and right when you let your stress control you. Learn to control stress and get rid of it every time it crops up for self-improvement.
Find The Source Of Your Stress
Knowing the source of your stress gives you plenty of options to counter it. If your stress stems from overwork, then take some time off from your busy schedule to relax. The home can also become a stressful environment, especially when it’s disorganized. If you think that the design of the interior is giving you problems, then take some time to rearrange the furniture around or add some home décor to make it comfortable to look at. Once you are able to determine the problem then you can take the necessary steps to correct it.
Learn To Relax Once In A While
Everyone would agree that work, or the demands of work, is mostly the cause of stress. If you think that you have that wild look in your eyes every time your boss asks you to do something, then you better ask for a vacation leave to relax yourself outside your work area before it leads you into trouble.
Take some time off from your busy schedule and visit the local spa. Pamper yourself by indulging in a full-body massage or get an aromatherapy session going on to help you relax. You can always take a vacation if you really want to get the thoughts of work out of your system, but a massage will do just fine if you can’t afford to be absent from it.
Find The Child Within You
Kids are known to be stress-free. Even if you scold them or force them to eat vegetables, you will never see them suffer from stress. The reason here is with their mindset to enjoy life as they see fit. You can take your cue from them and enjoy life more.
Find your inner child and just play. You can grab your Playstation out of the cabinet and bring out the games you usually play during your free time. Another idea is to listen to your favorite music or read some comics on the Internet. You can even play online games if you like just to get your mind off your work.
Keep in mind that the gist of stress management is not the methods you take for getting stress out of your system. The idea here is to learn how to divert your mind from the problems that causes stress to give yourself time to relax and face the problem with a clear mind.

Instead of spending 200 dollars on computer software, spend 5 on a notebook and a pack of pens. All that is needed to get started is some simple bookkeeping.
Once you have your equipment, take 2 weeks and write down everything that you spend. It doesn’t matter how insignificant the expense seems, it must be listed. Carry this notebook with you at all times. You may forget to list something, especially if it is small which will throw off your total amount of expenditure. Once the two weeks has ended, you will see where all of your money is going. You may be surprised and shocked to see how much actually goes on frivolous and insignificant items.
Many who practice this exercise find it quite upsetting but also quite sobering. They also find that once they know where all their money is going, it is easy to implement a plan for change. When it comes to setting goals, you will notice that it will help you choose a path for your life and to help keep your life pushing forward. You will know what you want to achieve and where you place your concentration. You will be able to spot all the things that will sidetrack you or distract you from the main goal. When you have a goal and plan, you will find that you will know when you are on track with the goal and when you are not. When you set your goals properly, you will find it to be motivating and help you stick with the main focus. Every time you reach a goal, you will find yourself wanting to keep moving forward. You want to be able to reach for something and be truly focused on it or you’ll never reach anything. Goals help you stay on the right path and they help you stay out of trouble.
You will find that your mind is a wonderful tool and your life will be designed to achieve your dreams and live your life the way that you have designed your life. You are able to focus on what you want for your life and then when you set a clear and comprehensive goal you know that you can have such an achievement. Your achievements are marked because you worked so hard for them. When you place a goal on paper, you are able to mark a path for where you want your life to go. Then you are able to physically see that you can do whatever you need to, or achieve your goal.
Who uses goals? Well, everyone uses goals to help them make it to their dreams. Businessmen and women, athletes, students and more use goals to help them achieve their dreams. Without goals, you must not have dreams because you cannot reach your dreams unless you set your goals down and a game plan. When you set goals, you are able to motivate yourself and be able to visualize who you are. You may find that you may have to do a lot of research for you to be able to set your goals properly. You are also going to have to organize your time and find some resources to help you make the most out of your life.

Do you have a friend to help keep you on track? Do you have anyone who cares enough to help you find the path that you stray away from? Hopefully you can find a backup plan to your problems.
Why are goals so important? Goals give a person direction, and if you don’t have direction then you have no other option but to wonder. Wondering is okay when you are very young, but when it comes to being a responsible adult you are pressured by society to have goals and plan. You are expected to know what you want out of life and how to get to your life goal at a very young age. When you are twenty or thirty you will find yourself wondering what you want for your life. If you set a goal early, you can at least have some direction in life, but as you grow you can always change your goals to something that you want.
Is it too late? Of course not! Your reasons may change as you get older, but you can still achieve incredible things if you really want to… Discover how you can learn to achieve YOUR dreams here!
